Herbal teas such as peppermint tea, ginger tea, chamomile tea and rosehips tea can help claim down calm pain, bloating and any other bowel trouble. Make sure that you sit up straight/or stand around after drinking these teas to avoid the digestive acids from moving upwards into your mouth. Besides consuming, you do other physical and mental changes to help relief heartburn. Try to wear loose clothing to allow your muscles to properly digest the food.
You can also try sleeping with your head raised a few inches so that the acid doesn’t creep up to your mouth. There are also specially designed pillows made that keep your head in an elevated position. You can buy them from bedding stores and pharmacies.
You should also control what you drink. Avoid/reduce the intake of alcohol. Alcohol will enhance your stomach’s acid making ability. Other bad habits like smoking should be stopped too. Smoking has shown to irritate the lining of your internal organs.
If any of these home heartburn treatments doesn’t cure your problem in a few days, you might want to visit a doctor. Visit your doctor immediately if you experience black/bloody bowels, difficulty in swallowing or having difficulty sleeping at night due to a vomiting feeling.
